As far a ice cream goes this place was on top. We were out for a ride and happened upon this place by accident. The staff were very courteous. The portions were very generous. They had a large selection to choose from. My wife got the butter crunch and chocolate cup and she really liked it. If we are ever in the area again, we will be coming back. Thank you.

Typical roadside ice cream place. Just not as good as typical. Pros: The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and nice. The servings are quite big. A small cone was a LOT of ice cream. Prices were higher end for the market, but not out of the realm of what should be expected. Picnic tables are available, but in the sun, without shade- which means you better eat that big cone of soft serve very quickly, or else. Cons: The hard ice cream didn't taste very good. I had bland, uninteresting black raspberry which aside from the lack of flavor, did have a chemically aftertaste that is reminiscent of bad tasting local water. Newport Creamery, which is nothing special either, is significantly better. The soft serve was watery and melted almost immediately as a result. Combined with the lack of shade on a sunny day, my son had to throw 3/4 of his cone away in 5 minutes. Is it better than nothing? Maybe. Certainly uninspired. There are better choices nearby, however.

One of the few mom and pop ice cream shops I go to in warwick/west warwick, right off bald hill rd across from stop&shop, five guys, applebees etc. I love coming here for the ice cream that other shops in the area don't have. Usually they have new flavors to try out and always busy, they don't take credit cards so bring cash or your outta luck. At the end of the season before they close they give away the ice cream for free I was surprised of that when I saw a sign on the sidewalk saying free ice cream. Support small business

BEST ICE CREAM! So much to choose from so little time!!! :)) One of those places you pass wonder what it is but never check it out! CHECK it out! Hidden gem. Good prices, millions of topping. Big serving sizes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this place :)

I find it annoying when an establishment randomly closes early. Friday night, their listed hours are until 11pm, show up at 10:30 and they're closed. Bummer.

Great Ice cream - nice people I went out of my way to get a L'il Rhody ice cream and much to my disappointment, the place was closed. The owner was inside working and when I knocked on the window to ask what time they opened, he offered to get me whatever I wanted. I got a large cone with a couple flavors on it. The coffee cookies was great. He scooped a couple of new flavors on the top for me to try, Bourbon and Boysenberry. I was NOT a fan of the Bourbon, but after trying the Boysenberry, I wished I had gotten an entire cone of that flavor. Next time...

Pretty neat little place. This is a great place to just grab some ice cream on a warm day. They have a great selection and can make items like sundaes. They have both real ice cream and soft serve with the flavor swirl thing, but chocolate or vinilla as the base. It is not high-end ice cream (which is fine, just don't eat it and expect that 'wow' factor) and on the occasions I have been there, one one person has been working so you need to wait. Also it is a cash only place.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!!! What a gem of an ice cream shop. CASH ONLY - keep that in mind. They carry Bliss Dairy ice cream which is one of my favorite brands of ice cream. They have the absolute best chocolate peanut butter ice cream - great chocolate flavor with actually chunks of hardened peanut butter (think smooth, not crunchy). Delish. Waffle cones are great and service comes with a smile. Parking lot is not the best and there isn't much in terms of seating, but ice cream is worth it. On a hot day definitely stop in for your frozen treat fix, you'll be glad you did.

We visited this ice cream shop while on vacation in New England. Best ice cream in the lower New England states.. Wonderful ice cream from the dairy in Massachusetts. Staff is friendly and scoops are very large.

This is near our house but I've only been twice. The first time I got my usual that I get at ice cream places and it was OK. This time I tried some type of featured graham cracker flavor and I am now a TRUE BELIEVER! It was amazing, I'm afraid now I won't try any other flavors so I'm hoping they change the featured ones and force me to branch out. My wife spilled a cone of soft serve immediately after having it in her hands and they were so quick to offer her more and wouldn't let us clean it up. After the girl finished our order she came out and wiped up the mess. Very friendly as well! It should be known that the small is ENORMOUS and the kiddie size could easily be split by two adults. I can't wait to try more tasty desserts from this Lil gem off Bald Hill Rd. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is how close it is to the busy street which is kind of loud. Also with a 2 year old and 1 year old it makes me a bit nervous but they do have a nice area to sit and enjoy your sweet treats.

Pretty good ice cream, good location - right on route 2 next to KFC. lots of bright green picnic tables out in the sun. big parking lot. I had a very good peppermint pattie ice cream that was nice and crem-de-minty, with chunks of junior mints in it. I don't think they make the ice cream here, but it was pretty good. We tried a few other flavors that were ok. mocha/coffee ice cream didnt taste like coffee.

I came here with a group of friends. It is certrally located so it is easy to find. Parking was a but tight. Prices are reasonable and the selection is nice. I would go again.

After a hot day of swimming we stopped by and had a cool refreshment. For 5 ice creams it was $12 which is a pretty good deal. I had the vanilla with coffee shot swirl and it tasted like coffee milk syrup swirled in. YUM! They have benches outside for you to sit and enjoy your treat too.

An ok ice cream stand. Good portion to price ratio. The small is under $4 and is a huge amount of ice cream. More than you should be able to eat really. My only complaint is the location which is right on busy rt. 2

L'il Rhody has a nice selection for a roadside ice cream stand. My order of seasonal apple crisp ice cream in a sugar cone was simply delightful. My only complaint is the name: "L'il"--but that's the writer in me. Take out the misplaced apostrophe and all will be right.

Tasty, tasty yumminess. Their soft serve varieties heal the aches and pains of my normally bland, healthful diet of veggies and lean proteins. While I'm not a fan of "hard" ice cream at all (generally speaking), from what I did taste of my friend's serving, it was pretty good. The softies though are amazing: like, every flavour of the rainbow including my number one favourite of all time that I will swear by until the 2012 apocalypse, creamy pistachio sans the nuts. I love the ice cream stands that use the "gel" system (a mixer makes the soft serve and from there, a flavour gel is mixed individually to each order with whatever flavour the customer chooses). Love, love love it! Located across from the Christmas Tree Shop and on the same strip as many a plenty shopping venues, prices are pretty inexpensive and parking is relatively ample. Unfortunately I'm rarely in that neckofthewoods but during the summer if and when I am, I totally hit them up.

The hard ice cream here is delicious. My personal fav is the cake batter. One thing to be aware of is that they hand out pretty good sized scoops. So ask for a sample or an opinion if you're feeling uncertain.

I'm newer to the area and a HUGE ice cream fan and let me tell you that going there today was a complete WOW moment for me. I tried the Coconut Cheesecake Brownie ice cream and did eye a number of other flavors I'll have to try next few times, but WOW. You get a nice just sweetened enough perfect coconut taste and then these really nice chocolate brownie pieces. It's such a perfect harmony on your palate. Seriously this was the best ice cream I have had in years. It takes a lot to impress me, but this did it. The only complaint was that I had to go to an ATM, because they are cash only, so it took away from the time I could have experienced this amazingness. Otherwise, it's a nice spot further up Route 2, easily accessible and smartly has a covered area in case of a rainy day so you can still get their goodies! I will be back!

You could visit every day for a month and never have the same flavor twice A local hole-in-the-wall creamery with a staggering diversity of ice cream and frozen yogurt flavors that are uniformly excellent and served in bucket-sized portions. I learned after my first visit that children's size is all you can (or should) eat. A wonderful find in West Warwick, RI! Loved it, strongly recommended.
